Full Job Description

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our defence insurance team to be based in the Belfast office. The Role Our team covers a wide range of litigation including motor, employers liability, public liability and disease claims. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team within our multi-award-winning firm. The role is based in our Belfast office and requires regular communication with clients nationally. We have a collaborative, supportive team working in a modern, flexible environment.,

  • Assisting and handling a varied caseload.
  • Drafting of Court documents.
  • Instruction of Counsel and experts where appropriate.
  • Assessing liability and quantum and preparing reports/advice.
  • Making and responding to offers and negotiating settlement of both liability and quantum as and when necessary.
  • Managing client MI expectations and SLA requirements.
  • Negotiating recoverable costs and disbursements.

    The successful candidate should preferably have experience in personal injury. Previous experience in dealing with defence insurance claims will be an advantage but is not essential. This is an opportunity to take a lead in a growing area where the law is developing and the work is challenging., An undergraduate law degree or equivalent.
  • Ideally paralegal experience within personal injury litigation (Defendant or Plaintiff).
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast-paced environment.
  • A professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Assertive and confident with a "can do" attitude to work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills/knowledge.
