Full Job Description
We're hiring a Fixed-Term Payroll Administrator to join our team during a key transformation project. This role will ensure the continued delivery of accurate and timely payroll. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the flexibility to work remotely the remaining days, The Payroll team consists of 7 members who are responsible for the University and subsidiary payrolls of 11,000 personnel. The post holder will be responsible for:
+ Processing allocate payrolls and making timely payments.
+ Process timesheets, Starters/leaver, change in contracts, maintain temporary and fixed payments and deductions ensuring they are coded accordingly.
+ Act as one of the main departmental ResourceLink users; run queries/ reports; carry out the processing of payrolls and advise other ResourceLink users in the department; ensure effective housekeeping of the ResourceLink system
+ compliance with contracts of employment, HR information, bursary regulations, PAYE, NI and other statutory regulations.
+ checking university's payrolls for accuracy prior to payroll run.
+ Calculate complex manual payments for arrears of pay award, promotional increases, acting/substitution pay and protection of pay. Elements of pay may require manual data entries for prolonged periods of time. Ensure temporary pay/deduction elements are stopped when allocated time expires
+ Epayslips Administration
You will need the ability to effectively organise and prioritise your own work, follow procedures to produce a high standard of output. You will should have a pro-active, can do attitude to your approach to work.
+ Experience working part of a Payroll team within a large organisation
+ Experience dealing completing a payroll to payment, eg starters, leavers, sickness, parental leave, deductions, and allowances, contact changes
+ Able to work well as part of a team
+ Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation - PAYE, NI, Superannuation, SSP, SMP etc
+ IT skills, with the ability to use computerised payroll software, email, Microsoft Office or equivalent,
+ Numeracy & literacy skills
+ Be able to follow detailed instructions
