We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated People Professional with effective organisational and interpersonal skills to join our People & OD service. You will provide an efficient, effective, and comprehensive People & OD service to a range of Council services, Joint Boards, and agencies.

 

You will provide a full range of professional people advice and guidance on areas such as conditions of service, employee relations, recruitment and selection, grievance, and discipline.

 

It is essential that you possess a Degree in Human Resources Management/ Post Graduate Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification, together with a minimum of Associate Membership of CIPD.

 

You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a Human Resource / People environment, which preferably acquired within the public sector e.g. Local Government; NHS etc; experience in providing advice and support to managers and practical knowledge of people procedures, practices, and employment legislation.

 

A wide range of practical experience in dealing with employee relations issues, Appropriate underpinning knowledge of the implementation of people policies and procedures and experience of working with recognised Trade Unions is essential.

 

You must also have effective communication, presentation, and written skills, including ability to prepare and present briefings and reports. You will ideally have a general knowledge of terms and conditions of service for local government employees (including teaching staff) and have a knowledge and understanding of the current and future Human Resources/People issues within local government.

 

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
