Full Job Description

We are hiring for a People Advisor to join our People team at Sainsburys Distribution Centre in East Kilbride.

You will work alongside the site management team and provide a professional HR service covering all aspects of employee relations and the colleague lifecycle.

Shift pattern: Monday - Friday | 37.5 hours per week.,

  • Provide advice and generalist HR support.

  • Manage the ER caseload, advising on legislative and company policy and procedures.

  • Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels establishing yourself as a credible, respected, and valued People Advisor, responding to queries directly and influencing managers to follow a best practice approach.

  • Assist departmental managers on the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures as well as local agreements.

  • Support the delivery of the People plan for the year, making adjustments where required to suit the business.

  • Contribute towards the improvement of processes and methods of operating practices where required.

  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring and development of the management team.

  • Support recruitment activity ensuring compliance to internal policies and selection of the most suitable candidates.

  • Analyse data and work toward KPIs.

    Proven HR experience in similar fast paced and busy role.

  • Proven and demonstrable skills in providing pragmatic, tailored HR advice.

  • Experience of ER and supporting managers with employee relations issues.

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or desire to work towards.

  • Competent knowledge of UK employment law.

  • Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively.

  • Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Passionate about developing and supporting colleagues to fulfil their potential.
