An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and confident individual to manage a team of admin support staff within our Facilities Support Services (FSS) team. Based from home with a secondary base in an office, currently at Bron Way, Cumbernauld, in this key role you will be responsible for ensuring that compliance, procurement and performance is maximised across our Catering, Cleaning, Janitorial and School Crossing Patrol services. FSS has 2,000 plus front-line staff mainly in Education buildings and innovative problem-solving skills are needed to address challenges including communication, IT, co-ordinated approach to training and moving forward with digital technology.

With an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject you need to be an excellent communicator and have the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands in a fast-paced environment and keep calm under pressure. An appropriate professional qualification would be an advantage as well as experience/understanding of Facilities management. Another advantage will be to have assisted in implementing change initiatives within a busy service and be business focused with the ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities.

To support this role you will require –

  • To be able to demonstrate your experience in measuring performance and in compliance matters
  • Have a variety of procurement experience and knowledge of procurement procedures
  • Be aware of financial regulations including period end and year end functions and monitoring of spend
  • Be customer focused to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel & Access with experience in interpreting and analysing large areas of data.
  • Previous experience of supervising and managing performance of staff and be able to encourage others in development activities.
  • Experience of project working
