Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated person to carry out duties within Theatres as a Perioperative Assistant. We would expect the successful candidate to display good organisational skills, be kind and caring, and have the ability to work with people as part of a multidisciplinary team with ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively.  Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Experience of working within theatre is essential.  

Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service which will include shift, weekend work & rotational nights as required, with flexibility to work over all sites in Fife. You should possess an SVQ Level 3 perioperative/SVQ leve3-health care support(clinical-perioperative units) qualification alond with good communication skills, both verbal and written. A genuine interest in working within the Theatre environment is essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
