Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Andrew and Jack:
Andrew and Jack are two housemates who live in their own home in the Barrhead area supported full time by Enable.
My name is Andrew, I am a quiet man and enjoy wildlife and nature. I like going out for drives in my car and going to parks. I also enjoy going out for something to eat and engaging in my local community. There are times when I like my own space and company too.
I want to try some new activities and would be looking for team members who will encourage me to try new things and support me to seek new opportunities. I want team members who have a calm and assuring nature and will take the time to know me well enough to be able to judge my mood. Ideally, I would prefer team members who are drivers as I have my own Motability car.
My name is Jack. I love going out in my car and getting in the local community and attending clubs. I am a trendy dresser and like to look good. I enjoy loud music, bangs and busy bustling environments. When I get the chance, I enjoy going for walks. I would prefer a team member who is motivated with a can do attitude and will support me to find new activities to try. I would like a team member who is proactive and efficient. I would prefer a team member who drives as I have my own Motability car.
We would expect you to take the time to get to know us, to listen to us, and work with us individually to ensure we get the most out of our support.
A driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential to work with us.
If you think you share the same interests and values, can work in partnership with us to achieve our goals, and are willing to commit yourself as a member of our team then we look forward to hearing from you.
That is why Andrew and Jack need you! Will you bring your best so that they can live their best life?
