Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

Let us introduce you to the people you could be supporting:

Robbie is a gentleman who lives in Hurlford in his own home with support 24 hours a day. Robbie has complex epilepsy and full training for this would be provided. Robbie also has some technology in place to support his epilepsy monitoring. Robbie likes to spend time within his home and the local community and has a car to support him live his best life. He has a team of Personal Assistants who know his very well. Robbie would also benefit from new activities and maybe some that are further afield. He needs support with all aspects of daily life including personal care and looking after his home.
Craig is an elderly gentleman who lives in his own home in Hurlford, he requires support to live here on a daily basis 7 days a week. His support is from 07.00 - 22.00. He has his own car and likes to go out and about for lunch or an ice cream at the beach. He requires support with all aspects of daily life including personal care, cooking and medication. Craig likes to spent time with friends who live locally too. Craig's mobility is declining so has a wheelchair that he uses when out and about in the community.

Aaron loves being outdoors, going for long walks or a drive in his car. Aaron is a lover of animals and has a particular interest in dogs and horses. He enjoys music, tv shows and the Edinburgh Military tattoo. Aaron is also a lover of classic cars and enjoys attending organised events in the local area. A typical day could be going to the shops for a daily dose of chocolate cake (Aarons favourite), ensuring he has all the essentials he needs, or even just to have a wander around his local community. Aaron receives support 7 days a week between the hours of 7am and 8pm. The hours can be split into half days or worked full days, depending on any arrangements Aaron has scheduled.

That is why they need your help! Will you bring your best so that the people we support can live their best life?
