Full Job Description

FinTech RS are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Personnel Development Advisor based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent, full time position, with Hybrid working available.


This role is ideally suited to candidates with experience in offshore Survey, Inspection and Data Processing who is looking to be based onshore, with adhoc site, port and offshore visits when required.



Main duties include:


  • Responsible for performance management and career development of all offshore personnel in the Data Processing and Inspection departments.
  • Facilitate inductions of offshore personnel and implement development plans to ensure a successful transition into field operations.
  • Create and implement personal mentoring, coaching and training plans for individuals.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive culture through strong communication and engagement with field based staff, delivery consistent level of support.
  • On-site (port or offshore) meetings with field based staff when required.
  • Ensure all reporting relating to personnel development (end of trip reports, probationary reviews, ongoing personnel assessments, etc) are completed promptly.
  • Provide support and advice to all Data Processing and Inspection personnel on training and development. Utilise internal training resources and aid with the design, development and implementation of any additional training requirements.
  • Support and review of external training courses and providers. Promote available training on a regular basis, confirming attendance numbers.
  • Ensuring Training Matrix for all grades are up to date and aligned to career development and company strategy.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of wider industry technological developments and improvements with a view to incorporating these within future Training Matrices.
  • Ensure that career development opportunities are identified and implemented. Recognising colleagues that require additional support, supplying guidance and planning improvement programs. Additionally recognising high achievers and supporting progression to promotion.
  • When required, support the interview process from a technical perspective.


Suitable candidates should have the following:


  • Experience in the offshore survey sector, with recognised industry qualifications
  • Understanding of and experience in offshore operations, including operational working practices in the fields of data processing and inspection and the systems required to fulfil these roles, e.g. asset integrity databases, inspection hardware, data processing software packages and the sensors required during operations.
  • Current and valid certification for offshore field working as required on an adhoc basis.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • HSSEQ knowledge and understanding.
