NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is 5/7, mainly Monday to Friday. 

NHS GGC Pharmacy Services, Preparative Services are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Support Worker to join the pharmacy team at the West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The Pharmacy department is housed in the West of Scotland Cancer Centre and provides chemotherapy to patients in the north of the city of Glasgow and supports the West of Scotland cancer network. The main duties of this post will consist of contributing to the day to day running of the pharmacy department by allocating routine duties to Band 2 Pharmacy Support workers. You will participate in the environmental monitoring and stock management programmes. You will deliver training to Pharmacy Support Workers in conjunction with senior technicians. You will also supervise and assist with attendance management of Pharmacy support workers.

It is essential that you have:

  • NVQ level 2 or SVQ level 2
  • SCQF level 6 qualification
  • or demonstrate to equivalent level with significant experience of working in a Pharmacy (must complete SCQF level 6 qualification on appointment if not already achieved).

A good level of general education, basic numeric and literacy skills are essential (demonstrated by 3 standard grade qualifications or equivalent which must include English and Maths as well as good communication and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
