Are you interested in being part of the Physiotherapy Team at The Mid Argyll Hospital and Integrated Care Centre? We are looking for a dynamic clinician, with highly developed musculoskeletal skills, to join our team.

This is a permanent full-time post of 37 hours per week.

The successful applicant will work as part of an Integrated Team to provide MSK physiotherapy assessment and treatments within the hospital and the wider community. You should be able to exhibit clinical leadership qualities and enjoy working in close association with peers, and colleagues.

The challenge for the post holder will be to work flexibly across MSK out-patients, maximising independence and promoting self-management to all our patients and the community setting. You will be expected to take part in the triaging of MSK referrals, The successful applicant will be required to assess, treat, and manage a complex varied caseload to a highly specialist standard.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a degree / honours degree in physiotherapy or equivalent and have NHS experience within a similar role.

If you are an experienced MSK physiotherapist, who is able to work collaboratively, is keen to develop leadership skills  as expected of a band 6 role, this could be the challenge for you.

  • Mid Argyll Hospital and Integrated Care Centre was opened in 2007, it is classed as a community hospital with semi acute admissions. It is a bright and modern building situated in the town of Lochgilphead.
  • It is an integrated care centre as all services e.g. social work, resources, physiotherapy, community nursing, inpatient ward, Outpatients, Accident and Emergency department, GP practice, radiography, Maternity, Scottish Ambulance Service are all on site and accessible.
  • Lochgilphead is situated on the banks of Loch Fyne, the seafront of Lochgilphead has undergone major regeneration and is now a place where local families can meet.
  • There is a good bus service to Glasgow and the islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura are on the doorstep with a short ferry journey.
  • Lochgilphead and the Mid Argyll area are ideal for those who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle with cycle paths and many forestry walks. There is a walk way that runs along the banks of the Crinan canal which is used by both locals and passing tourists. There is a swimming pool and local fitness groups.
  • There is one main school in Lochgilphead and this is a joint campus that takes children from 3-18.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
