Children, Education and Justice Services

Primary Teacher - Fixed term until 26/06/2025
Blackhall Primary School

Salary: £32,217 - £48,516
Hours: 35 per week

Blackhall Primary is a vibrant, happy school comprising 15 classes of 369 children. We have no school nursery but work closely with partner nurseries around the North West of the city as well as the primary schools in our Royal High School Learning Community. Our Senior Leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, Depute Head, Principal Teacher and Business Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative class teacher to join a semi-open plan P1 and lead our youngest learners in a positive and dynamic school experience. Knowledge and experience of Early Years and Learning through Play is highly desirable but not essential. We are looking for excellent teamwork and communication skills, an understanding of the GIRFEC processes and a desire to learn and develop teaching practice as part of our P1 team.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
