Job Title: Principal Engineer – Engineering Coordinator

Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Filton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • A focal point for specialist engineering (Transversal) teams across the Business to interact with the SSNA design. To co-ordinate Transversal teams in providing their expectations into the SSNA programme, and conversely ensure that the Transversal teams meet the programme needs
  • Manage a large group of stakeholders, technical co-ordination of inputs and outputs, programming work and reporting progress. Communicating widely and effectively through diverse means will be a key part of the role
  • Presently the work is largely centred on co-ordinating the derivation, extraction and application of requirements to the submarine systems and equipment, but will evolve with design maturity
  • Set within the Systems Engineering team of the SSNA programme, the role will encompass systems engineering tools and practices, with particular emphasis on requirements management, from derivation through to acceptance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree level qualification
  • Experience working within an engineering function supporting a large product
  • Excellent stakeholder management & relationship building skills
  • Leadership skills/influencing skills

Desirable:

  • General Submarine knowledge
  • Systems Engineering experience
  • Project Management
  • Chartered/Working towards chartership
