Full Job Description

  • Supporting with the assessing of emergent Engineering capability requirements across the SSNR programme to enable a Digital Engineering way of working

  • Support the development of effective ways of working through policy and operating model development

  • Refine and update the Business Architecture for the SSNR programme to ensure the project is in line with required capability development schedules

  • Working with Suppliers, Partners and the SSNA programme to develop key policies and approaches for effective ways of working within the NxGen Digital Capabilities

  • Ensuring that the project is developing a capability that is consistent with the Engineering function/business future strategy

  • Support engagement for wider cross-functional input and ensure the requirements are fed into the architecture effectively

    Strong knowledge of Maritime or other high hazard industry, engineering design and development capabilities

  • Demonstrable experience within design and development to complex engineering problems, challenges, issues and problems associated with the area

  • Proven ability to translate technical guidance and documents to others relating to the design and development of the submarine solutions

  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills

  • Ability to be a facilitator and develop, design processes within a team setting

    NxGen Digital is a strategic programme that is providing tangible capability into the largest defence programme ever funded by the Ministry of Defence the Submersible Ship Nuclear Replacement (SSNR). It is a global programme that reaches across UK, US and AUS providing exciting opportunities to engage globally.


  • Reporting into the Business Design Authority, you will be working within the Business Architecture Team which is crucial in managing and refining the business architecture that underpins the System of work for SSNR that will change how Submarines will work in the future and influence ways of working across Maritime and Land and BAE Systems Group. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
