Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Principal Clinical Psychologist based at Three Towns Resource Centre, Stevenston.

This post sits within North Ayrshire AMH Psychological Specialty.  The Clinical Psychologists within the Specialty are based within the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team located in Three Towns Resource Centre.

We would welcome interest in this post from recently qualified Clinical Psychologists, as well as final year Trainees on a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme.

Hours:

37 per week (10 sessions a week).

Variation in the contracted hours will be considered to a minimum of 23 hours per week 

What you will do:

You will be involved in delivering highly specialist Psychology assessment (including neuropsychological testing), formulation and therapy to adults presenting with a wide range of complex psychological disorders and severe mental illness. Within the Psychological Specialty, clinicians have training and experience at delivering and supervising others in the delivery of: Cognitive Behavioural Therapies; Schema Therapy; Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR and Mindfulness.

Psychologists in the team also provide dedicated input to the Digital Therapies Team and the adult acute inpatient wards. You will have the opportunity to contribute to: service development, teaching, training, supervision of others and will work closely with colleagues both from the Psychological Specialty (when engaging in tasks such as assessment and vetting of referrals) and also from the multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You should possess a Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

You should also hold a Honours degree in Psychology (minimum upper 2nd class).

Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist is essential for this post. Trainee Clinical Psychologists would not be expected to be HCPC registered at the point of applying for the post, but would need to have attained registration before they would be eligible to commence the post.
