Principal Teacher
Craigroyston Primary School

Salary: £55,155
Hours: 35 per week

Craigroyston Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced teacher to join our leadership team as Principal Teacher. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners who will work rigorously to ensure learners develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to demonstrate four key capacities – to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. The successful candidate will also support the pastoral needs, wellbeing of learners (and their families) in first or second level depending on the experience of the candidate.

Craigroyston Primary School is committed to raising attainment and achievement for all. An excellent understanding of curriculum development and pedagogy, along with the associated skills and knowledge to quality assure and lead improvement is essential. Furthermore, the role offers the successful candidate opportunity to lead and develop Literacy and Expressive Arts across the school. Understanding of digital pedagogy and digital school systems would be beneficial.

Our school benefits from a diverse staff team with a range of experiences and interests. We have a dedicated pupil support team consisting of PSA, EYP and PSO practitioners, a vibrant nursery and 13 classes. We have an experienced DHT and welcomed a new HT in April 2022. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
