Moffat Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring and determined secondary Principal Teacher Curriculum (STEM Faculty) on a 0.2FTE (one day per week) permanent basis.

You will share a key day to day operational role based at Moffat Academy - Secondary.  You will also share a cluster wide strategic leadership role, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths - enabling all young people to achieve success both in school and through digital learning platforms.

As part of an all through 2 to 18 campus comprising nursery, primary and a secondary school, we work closely as a team to nurture and support our young people, families, and community. Our staff strive to deliver an excellent experience of the highest standards to all learners in our beautiful environment. You will have proven leadership qualities and experience in secondary education and be committed to very high standards of achievement.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful
