An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kinross High School as a Principal Teacher of Guidance on a temporary basis for up to 12 months to cover a maternity leave. 

We value ambition, compassion, resilience and responsibility and our Pupil Support Faculty leads on developing these values in all young people through developing strong relationships with their caseload, leading tutor support groups, house assemblies and the delivery of PSE lessons.  

You will be joining an experienced team of 3 fte Principal Teachers of Guidance and 1fte Principal Teacher of Learning Support (Inclusion), Teachers of Learning Support, Pupil Care and Welfare Officers and Pupil Support Assistants.  You will also work in collaboration with members of the Senior Leadership team.

Our support team is currently structured around 4 pastoral houses and each Principal Teacher of Guidance acts as Head of House.

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for providing support for your caseload and ensuring appropriate planning is in place to help young people maximise their potential and remove barriers to learning.  This will include the regular analysis of key data such as attendance, attainment and achievement and implementing appropriate interventions.  You will also have a whole school remit and be part of the Middle Leadership team focusing on school improvement.

The school vision of learning together, achieving together is underpinned by our professional learning programme.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to take part in our established leadership development programmes, our annual professional learning conference as well as taking part in coaching and mentoring sessions to name but a few.
