We are looking to recruit an experienced and innovative Principal Teacher to join our team. Applications are invited from enthusiastic professionals who have the vision and energy to promote high standards of achievement and ensure the continued development and progress of the school.

At Ratho Primary School, we aim to create a welcoming, secure and caring environment in which children, staff and parents/carers feel valued. We provide a broad, well-balanced curriculum which encourages children to achieve their full potential.

Ratho Primary School is currently organised into ten classes from P1-P7 and has a current roll of 225 pupils. There is a new Early Learning and Childcare Nursery site with capacity for 64 places scheduled to open in January 2025 and our current nursery building is full at a capacity of 32 places.

The school currently has a Senior Leadership Team of Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher and a part-time Business Manager.

Ratho Primary School is situated in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Edinburgh. There is a large playground area complete with garden and school woodland. We are at the heart of the supportive and vibrant local Ratho community. We are part of the Balerno High School Learning Community alongside Dean Park and Kirknewton Primary Schools.

Please visit our website for more information about our school: http://rathoprimary.org.uk/

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
