Whitecrook Primary School has a current roll of around 130 children with its Early Learning and Childcare Centre having capacity for 40 children. Cunard Primary (which is an ASN school for children with social, emotional and wellbeing needs) has a roll of 24 children.

The successful candidate will work across each of these provisions. The successful candidate will support the Head Teacher in the delivery of the strategic vision, values and aims to ensure successful delivery of high quality learning and teaching through a play pedagogy approach at early level.

As the Principal Teacher Early Level the post holder will be responsible for leading, managing and further developing the ELCC. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to work as part of a team, and proven experience of leading and managing at early level is essential.

Applicants must be have experience of teaching at nursery and primary level, and be capable of modelling the highest standards of classroom management. Knowledge and experience of implementing Curriculum for Excellence at early level is essential and knowledge of the national practice guidance Realising the Ambition.

Responsibilities

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
