We're seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of Prisoner Custody Officers preferably with a C or D license. Enjoy a stable career with competitive pay, opportunities for overtime, and a rewarding work environment within the criminal justice sector.


What's in it for you?

  • Pay Rate: Starting at £13.25 per hour, plus an extra £2.75 per hour for D License drivers once assessed and cleared for driving duties.
  • Flexible Hours: 38-hour contracts per week, including opportunities for regular overtime.
  • Annual Earnings: If you hold a C license you will earn £26,182 per year (full time equivalent based on 38 hours), however opportunities may arise for you to apply for a D License position should they become available where you could earn up to £31,616 per year (full time equivalent based on 38 hours per week).
  • Training & Development: Receive comprehensive training to equip you for success. There are lots of opportunities for internal progression with a high number of our management teams progressing through from the Prisoner Custody Officer role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport prisoners to and from court and other destinations ensuring the care and welfare of the people in our care and custody.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with prisoners and colleagues.
  • Ensure the security and well-being of prisoners during transport. The people in our care and custody will have a variety of different needs and it will be your role to ensure that they are met.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately, liaising with prison and police authorities ensuring documentation is completed and correct, carrying out risk assessments on vulnerable or at risk prisoners.
