As the frontline of the NHS in Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service provides an emergency ambulance service to a population of over 5 million people serving all of the nations mainland and island communities. We employ almost 6,000 staff working across Scotland to deliver services 24/7 every day of the year.
Our procurement team requires a Procurement Officer to join its established team on a permanent basis. The procurement team provides services to three special Health Boards in a shared service arrangement.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team-player to deal with all activities for purchasing using the e-Procurement system (Pecos), Including requests for quotations (Quick quotes) and tendering (ITT) and other procurement activities.
The role offers the chance to get involved in a range of procurement activities in a fast-moving and varied environment, including collaborative work with other national boards.
It is an essential requirement that the candidate has experience with the development and publication of Quick Quotes and Ideally, you will also have experience of using Pecos, a good awareness of procurement and experience of NHS systems and processes.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills, with team working and influencing being particular strengths. A confident, professional approach and the ability to contribute effectively to a small team in a busy environment are vital.
