Full Job Description

This role is primarily required to deliver the procurement activities related to the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities of our operating assets where 3rd party contracted services are required. You will also support the procurement activities associated with the general management of the operational assets. Procurement activities include identification and selection of suppliers, negotiation and award of contracts, preparing purchase orders and contracts for goods, works and services in consultation with the wider asset operations team in accordance with best-value and approved company procedures. You will be supporting the asset operations procurement team to initiate and implement procurement plans, including obtaining buy-in from key internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include;

  • Delivering procurement activities (relating to 3rd party contract services) as required for existing operational assets to agreed commercial objectives and in line with approved procedures including:
  • Benchmarking and market research
  • Determining the appropriate method for acquisition
  • Prepare procurement and contract documentation
  • Consulting relevant technical, HSE, quality, legal and financial functions
  • Preparation and issue of requests for quotation/invitations to tender
  • Leading evaluation of bids and co-ordinating inputs from the wider evaluation team (technical, legal, HSE)
  • Lead the negotiation of commercial terms with preferred suppliers
  • Co-ordinate contract execution and ensuring timely contract awards
  • Act as initial 'gatekeeper' to supply chain and procurement HSE / Quality risks. Liaise with specifier and HSE teams to ensure HSE / Quality risks are actively managed.
  • Conduct market analysis and investigate internal cost data to provide detailed procurement spend (and savings) trend reports to internal stakeholders, highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Support the Commercial and Supply Chain team with warranty claims, disputes, contract amendments and variations.
  • Provide support to the department to conduct compliance and governance oversight on operational supply chain activities to ensure adherence to company process and procedures.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis reports such as value stream, total cost of ownership, and cost saving initiatives.

    You will be an experienced Procurement Specialist within an operational environment, ideally with an engineering or industrial sector background and ideally with a minimum CIPS level 4 qualification. You will have a strong track record of procuring external contracted engineering & specialist services and have a proven ability to conduct successful commercial negotiations with suppliers.
  • Preferably a degree qualification in a numerate discipline and the ability to demonstrate strong supply chain and procurement experience.
