Full Job Description

Stirling Council seeks a Procurement Specialist to support the Corporate Procurement function through strategic and operational procurement activity, which delivers best value and benefit across city, towns and all communities in the council area.

This role will require excellent creative thinking skills, problem solving skills, collaborative working skills and communication skills. The post sits within the Corporate Procurement function and the post holder will report directly to one of the council's Category Managers.

Within this function, you will be part of a team of commercial and technical professionals delivering strategic sourcing activities for specific categories of spend, achieving best value and delivering on savings targets while maintaining/improving quality and service levels.

As a subject matter expert you will have the skills and relevant experience to support and monitor the council's strategic commissioning and procurement activity efficiently and effectively. You will collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, working within robust and transparent systems while maintaining strong relationships. Recognising the challenges that local authorities face you will support the team to meet increasing customer requirements and delivering business needs.
