Full Job Description
As a Production Apprentice, you'll learn a wide range of skills and gain a breadth of real life experience which may include helping to develop ideas and stories; learning how to use technical equipment and specialist software; assisting your team on location/in studio; finding guests and participants; researching content; creating content for social media; helping out/'running' on the studio floor; in a TV gallery or in a radio studio. All the while, you'll be learning content-making skills from experienced production team members as well as expert BBC trainers., This scheme starts in September 2025 and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 17 months., Apprentices starting at the BBC from September 2025 will be placed on a 'Fixed Term' contract. This means your contract is for the duration of your apprenticeship only. The BBC is committed to investing in new talent and as you approach the end of your apprenticeship, we will work with you to support you and offer you employability and networking training to help you secure your next role - this might be a job here at the BBC, or somewhere in the wider media industry.
You will experience working across both BBC Audio and BBC Introducing in this placement and roles vary from script-writing & research, audio editing, listening to new music & assisting with shows in the studio.,

You'll learn on-the-job as part of a BBC production team, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, while working towards your Production apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers., The production teams in BBC Audio create and deliver more than 100 hours of original audio every day across Radio 1, 1Xtra, The Asian Network, Radio 2, 6Music, Radio 3, Radio 4 and the World Service and BBC Sounds. Our podcasts and radio programmes are heard around the world. We work with some of the biggest names in music, entertainment and journalism and bring the greatest festivals and events to life for our audiences. BBC Audio, BBC Scotland and BBC Northern Ireland announced a partnership at the end of 2023 which created a BBC Audio production hub spanning Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast. The new unit creates content across a variety of genres but with a focus on arts and culture, drama and books, and jazz and music made for Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 1, the World Service and BBC Sounds. The move is part of the BBC's Across the UK plans. In Glasgow, you could be working on programmes such as Front Row, Loose Ends and the Digital Human for Radio 4, as well as Books, Readings and drama output. At BBC Introducing, we are a collective of creatives, music-lovers, presenters, producers, and visionaries with the same aim - to give artists a platform to reach higher and thrive. We are dedicated to giving emerging artists career-propelling opportunities, with over one million tracks uploaded to BBC Music Introducing. The journey starts with BBC Introducing shows across the UK on BBC local radio, then onto Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6Music, The Asian Network and Radio 3. We are looking for apprentices to join our teams across the UK! - Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract
- Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation., A starting salary of £21,840
