Insignia Technologies Ltd. is a dynamic, innovative company developing a range of smart pigments which, when incorporated into plastic films or inks change colour when exposed to a variety of gases or UV light. Our current focus is on the development of smart labels for the medical and food sectors.
Insignia is located in BioCity Scotland, Newhouse, and is accessible from Glasgow or Edinburgh. We are now seeking a Production Lab Technician to join our team.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Production Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the production and quality control processes within our laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Utilise lab equipment to produce prototypes of products according to specifications.
· Master the use of our flow wrapper to gas seal products according to the schedule, to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of product, following established protocols and performing in-process quality checks.
· Pack and ship orders to customers, ensuring correct labelling on packaging and visually inspecting products to confirm they meet quality standards.
· Fault finding and troubleshooting to help identify and solve problems during the production process.
· Collaborate with the team to help optimise production processes.
· Oversee the inventory of lab supplies and materials, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
· Maintain lab equipment through daily checks, cleaning, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
· Support general lab operations, contributing to an organised and clean work environment.
· Support implementation of and uphold stringent quality control measures to ensure products meet internal standards and customer specification.
· Work within in-house QA systems.
· Maintain production and shipping records and help with data collection where necessary.
Skills and Experience:
· Higher education qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline desirable.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
· Ability to multi-task and plan production activities.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
· Highly motivated and adaptable, able to respond to changing targets with drive and determination.
· Ability to work to tight deadlines.
· Comfortable working in a small team and being exposed to top management on a regular basis.
The salary for this position is up to £23-25k per annum, depending on experience. The role is expected to begin as soon as possible.
