Production Planner

Escape Recruitment is working with a specialist manufacturer who works within several sectors who are looking to appoint a Production Planner to join their Supply Chain Team.

The Production Planner will be responsible for producing and managing the production schedules to ensure the on-time completion of customer orders.

Responsibilities of the role will involve:

• Developing the production plan with a detailed project schedule to ensure the manufacturing processes are completed to meet the completion date
• Continually monitor the progress of the production plan to ensure it is on track
• Work closely with the Sales Team to review sales orders and forecasts
• Work closely with colleagues in procurement, production and support teams to ensure availability of materials, workforce and machinery
• Attend regular meetings to discuss the production plan and its progress
• Highlight and resolve problems with the production plan
• Analyse and produce reports using the ERP system for planning and reporting
• Continually seek improvements to processes and procedures

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

• Previous experience working in a Production Planning role within a manufacturing organisation (electronics would be highly advantageous)
• Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and planning processes
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Experience in using ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
• Can prioritise workload and deal with change
• Problem solver who always looks for solutions
• Team player with excellent communication skills
