Project Cost Controller
Location: Glasgow (Old Kilpatrick)
Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a Project Cost Controller on behalf of our client, a global leader in the energy and engineering sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of high-profile projects.
The Role
As a Project Cost Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely, and value-added financial analysis and reporting for major projects. Based in Glasgow (Old Kilpatrick), you will work closely with project teams to monitor budgets, evaluate cost performance, and provide insights that drive decision-making.
Reporting to the Cost Control Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining cost control structures aligned with the project scope and work breakdown structure.
- Utilising advanced systems to deliver precise cost tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
- Conducting variance analyses and preparing accruals for monthly reporting cycles.
- Providing detailed short- and long-term cash flow projections.
- Collaborating with budget holders to ensure cost allocations are accurate and well-documented.
- Preparing and presenting key project cost performance indicators for stakeholder review.
- Supporting the preparation of board-level reporting, including in-depth analysis and recommendations.
About You
We’re seeking candidates with a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. You don’t need to tick every box, but here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience in Cost Management, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Prior experience delivering cost control across diverse projects.
- Strong IT literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivots/lookups). Knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
- Analytical mindset with an eye for detail and high accuracy in data interpretation.
- Effective communication skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
