Full Job Description

Peace Recruitment has registered a fantastic opportunity to work with a well known SME in Edinburgh, our client is looking for a Project Director to add support and growth to the current established Project Management team.

 

This opportunity welcomes current Project Directors that are looking to grow their career, you could see yourself developing to an equity director within a short space of time; having success delivering a variety of large scale projects, winning new business, developing the existing team, etc. 

 

If you are currently an Associate Director PM looking for the next step in your career, this would be the perfect opportunity for you to step up to PD. 

 

Our client has a great variety of current projects in the private sector, ranging from £20m to £50m, some of their projects but not limited to large scale student accommodation, leisure centres, service departments, large scale office developments in Edinburgh with a very healthy pipeline of projects awarded but not yet commenced. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop the Project Management division, setting the strategic direction and ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the delivery of large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with the business development team to identify new opportunities, develop proposals, and win new projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and risk management.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and projects are delivered within budget constraints.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a consultancy environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Client Focus: Excellent client management skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Edinburgh.
