Full Job Description

James Walker Gourock is looking to recruit a motivated individual with experience in engineering/manufacturing for a Project Lead position. This role is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Project Lead to gain experience and learn from a variety of projects across sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for project work from tender to delivery and will work with other internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·        Compile detailed tender documents by gathering information from various departments.

·        Ensure sub-suppliers meet project-specific quality requirements through thorough research.

·        Identify and verify sub-suppliers for project needs.

·        Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and sub-suppliers to create initial project schedules.

·        Engage with internal and external customers to address and resolve project-specific issues from the enquiry stage through the project lifecycle.

·        Coordinate and lead planning sessions to ensure project progress and timely delivery.

·         Manage the configuration of awarded projects, ensuring all tender information is recorded and communicated to relevant personnel.

·        Serve as the primary contact for all project enquiries, lead weekly progress meetings, and prepare and submit progress reports.

·        Measure and report on internal project performance.

·        Document project activities and manage project milestones.

·        Work closely with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

 

Essential Skills

 

·        National and or Higher Maths and English or equivalent

·        Ability to understand manufacturing drawings, and specifications

·        Able to multi-task and juggle completed and competing demands

·        Work to deadlines, maintaining strong focus and attention to detail at all times

·        Good communication skills and the ability to offer practical advice

·        Good time management skills

·        IT Literate with experience in using Excel, Word, Adobe and Microsoft Project

·        Self-Starter and motivated to succeed, working under own initiative with minimal supervision

·        Be able to work collaboratively with other team members and departments

 

Preferred Skills


·     Engineering Qualification

·     Working in a Manufacturing environment or similar

·     Project Management experience
