Full Job Description
Reporting to the Platform Lead, you will be responsible for applying new ideas, knowledge, and technology to create products that provide our customers with added value. You will also be taking account of market trends and customer needs which includes leading, developing and delivering new product development projects within the platform.,
- In conjunction with Category Managers, Product Managers and Product Development teams; review global product range, processes and technologies and identify areas for improvement
- Manage product development projects from concept through to commercialisation
- Prepare detailed project plans, including budgets for individual projects
- Manage project resources both internal and external to maximise efficiency of use,
- Manage Technologist/Technician team members, support their personal development, and regularly evaluate their performance
- Monitor and control financial expenditure on individual projects
- Be part of Strategic Product Development project teams
- Accountable for food and manufacturing safety standards and leads the successful transition of new products into operational processes to maximise yield
- In conjunction with Commercial teams, ensure that new products successfully delivered against customer expectations and commercial objectives
- Ability to work with key stakeholders globally to ensure communication and timelines around delivery
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with our customers, suppliers, and other parts of the Devro group Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Knowledge: Experience of working on projects of a technical nature is essential Problem solving skills (e.g. Green Belt) is desirable Computer literate, able to innovate and have a scientific approach to your work Experience: Qualified to degree level within a science or engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years practical experience within a manufacturing environment is desirable Demonstrable Project Management skills are essential.
