Own your career, and you can build something to be proud of at Balfour Beatty., By joining our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Project Manager you will be have overall accountability for successful project delivery including; planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out on our ASTI Overhead Line and Cabling Projects

What you'll be doing

  • Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase

  • Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made

  • which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy
  • Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders

  • Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables

  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in

  • legislation
  • Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety

  • initiatives
  • Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions

  • Review RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS

  • Develop H&S plan and ensure it is treated as a live document and ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce

  • Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions and identify and control resource to deliver works

  • Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans and raise

  • appropriate requests
  • Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with

  • internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the
    team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and
    performance management.
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and

  • recommend/implement changes. Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority
  • Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and

  • progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that
    contractual arrangements are achieved
  • Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate

  • action on findings and lead working groups on focused improvement areas
  • Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes/hold weekly

  • meeting and ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectations

  • Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience

  • In depth understanding and practical experience of NEC contracts

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Previous experience in delivering 132KV to 400KV Projects
