Full Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of the project scope, management of the project budget and the schedule delivery of the Harding Drilling Rig Reactivation Project, in line with the TAQA business plan and TAQA Project Delivery Process. The role requires meticulous management of complex contract interface, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.,

  • Responsible for delivering safe projects which are technically sound and delivered in line with the expected schedule and budget and in accordance with corporate processes
  • Works closely with the CNS Projects Manager, Brae Rigs RTS Manager, Wells Manager, operations manager and other cross TAQA functions to ensure efficient project execution that is aligned with the TAQA business and maximising the cross functional capabilities of TAQA
  • Requires development of project plans and objectives that are cascaded within the team and aligned within te wider TAQA business.
  • Understands project scope, logic and economic aspects of project and sets individual, project or unit goals to meet objectives, tracking progress of goal attainment and reviews status with management
  • Liaises closely with the operations group to ensure offshore execution is carried out safely and efficiently, anticipating the interests and concerns of individuals and groups, giving due consideration of operational constraints, production priorities etc, Liaises closely with the Well delivery teams to ensure smooth, efficient offshore project delivery to the end client, requiring the ability to influence others, to achieve objectives or cause action
  • Manages Rig projects ensuring activities are prioritised effectively and that the team delivers results in line with approved plans and timescales and in strict compliance with Company standards and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Supports technical/drilling facility engineering change management across TAQA installations
  • Ensures project documentation is prepared and maintained in line with TAQA's project management and documentation management processes
  • Ensures that the project is fully commissioned and properly handed over to the drilling team inclusive of all punchlist items, verification, training, maintenance routines, sparing strategies etcEnsures effective project communication and reporting processes are established and maintained between all parties involved in the development and that key contributors are kept advised of progress and clearly understand their responsibilities and commitments, providing technical leadership and expert advice where needed.
  • Manages the individual budgets over the Life of Project and within the budget year, taking a strategic view of expenditure and controls cost-effectiveness at a departmental level and champions improved techniques of cost management.
  • Understands impact of decisions and or project outcomes on strategies, operations and budgets.
  • Supports the team and support functions in the tendering and selection processes and subsequent contracts that drive alignment and delivery, anticipating the interests and concerns of individuals and groups.
  • Works closely with selected contractor and TAQA teams to ensure the effective delivery of services and contract compliance
  • Develops highly positive relationships with all appropriate external stakeholders
  • Makes visits offshore to enhance onshore-offshore relationships/communications, etc

    Engineering degree
  • Preferred
  • Suitable demonstrable Project Management training
  • Chartered Engineer
  • EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Essential
  • Demonstrable experience in project delivery
  • Excellent safety leadership
  • Awareness in operational drilling activities
  • Design engineering awareness and understanding of codes and standards, quality assurance and competence requirements
  • Good contract management awareness including tendering, contract negotiation and set up including KPI's
  • Partnership and Teamworking - demonstrable commitment to the success of the team and the wider organisation
  • Performance Bias - ability to take account of the impact of delivery on the business balance.
