Full Job Description

As a Project Manager - Support Equipment, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be collaborating across our very complex enterprise with our primary customer, critical stakeholders and other industry partners. We are a key participant in the Submarine Support Equipment delivery function through a new Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) capability. Our aspirations are big - and you'll help make them possible.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the management of newly purchased and refurbishment projects, pulling together several stakeholders throughout the business to support and deliver the overall requirements of the enhanced GFE cell.

  • Contribute to the establishment of the GFE service.

  • Report data, update strategic schedules and develop reliable GFE schedule forecasts,

  • Support in development of suitable communications to convey issues in a timely manner that will support the decision-making process.

  • Ensure returns of equipment are expedited holding authority to account against Future Maritime Support Programme contract.

  • Create efficiencies with the handling of Portable Specialised Support Equipment (PSSE).


  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde, Faslane, Helensburgh

  • Understanding of tender assessment and supply chain management of contractors work packages

  • Project management techniques and activities

  • Be able to prioritise works and identify and balance resource over a programme of packages

  • Ability to capture project information and present it in easy to understand formats

  • Good report writing and communication skills and strong organisational skills


  • Qualifications for the Project Manager - Support Equipment:
  • NVQ Level 4 in an Engineering discipline, or Business qualification (BTEC HNC in management minimum)

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent qualification in project management
