Full Job Description

This post would be suitable both for suitably qualified graduates and for more experienced landscape officers. Whilst we currently only have one vacancy, please note that a second landscape project officer post may also become available. Home Working Consideration Applications for homeworking or hybrid working will be considered for this post, subject to a trial period and in accordance with East Lothian Council's Home Working and Worksmart Policies which can be found here. Home or Hybrid working options can be discussed with candidates invited for interview. All applicants must live in the UK and will be expected to attend Council offices from time to time as required. To undertake and assist in managing the work of the team so that the council carries out its statutory duties and related functions with particular reference to the Council's responsibilities for trees and landscape issues under the Town & Country Planning Acts and related legislation. To advise the public, council members and officials on issues related to landscape and trees. To provide a high-quality landscape design service to all council departments. To undertake the design and implementation of a wide range of landscape and environmental improvement projects, and other Council projects.

Degree in Landscape Architecture. Member of the Landscape Institute. Driving Licence As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

  • Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00 Flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible. To start asap.
