Portfolio Office Expansion Programme
As part of a major transformation, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service are expanding their Portfolio Office to enable significant internal transformation initiatives. This expansion will enable the effective delivery of a variety of organisational change programmes whilst also enhancing the growth and effectiveness of the Portfolio Office function. Ultimately, this expansion will aid in the delivery of a fit for purpose and cost-effective Public Service.


The Role
SFRS are looking for a Planning & Resourcing Lead to join their Portfolio Office on a permanent basis. You'll take the lead on all aspects of project and programme planning with a focus on the development, updating and monitoring of project/programme plans and schedules. Working with a variety of stakeholders, you'll ensure clarity around key project and programme milestones by defining what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure effective delivery.


In order to be successful in your application, you should show:

  • A proven track record of Project/Programme/Portfolio planning with experience of the full project and programme planning lifecycles
  • Knowledge of formal Project/Programme Management frameworks (Prince2, APM, Agile, Lean, etc)
  • The ability to develop planning and resourcing strategies, frameworks, processes and tools
  • The ability to analyse complex datasets and provide key insights
  • Knowledge of Benefits Management
  • Superb stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear manner to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Superb communication skills
