Full Job Description

We are looking for experienced Project Workers who will support children in Respite home settings based in Airdrie, in most cases, with additional support needs and complex challenging behaviour, and support them to achieve their outcomes which are recorded in their support plans.

You will work closely with the Respite Childrens Services Team to promote a caring environment for service users through high standards of professional practice which are conducive to the physical, emotional, social intellectual and spiritual needs of the service users. You will be responsible for the Care compliance of your team.

You will also support the delivery of care and detailed care plans, ensuring that they meet the individual needs of the service users.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending Team Meetings and Plan in advance updates specific to your case load- Children of concern, risk management or health and safety issues or CI Compliance.

  • Ensure that resources and planning is carried out by all staff within your team.

  • Child Portfolio management - It is the responsibility of the Project worker to ensure that outcomes are met for the children within your caseload.
  • Maintaining and monitoring record keeping in relation to attendance of care workers, service users' care plans and risk assessments.

  • Undertaking regular training reviews with staff and recommending appropriate actions.

  • Supporting out-of-hours work to support care staff and service outside of regular office hours.

    At least 3 years of experience working with children with challenging behaviour and/or additional support needs in a residential or respite setting, professional capacity or local community.

  • An SVQ 3 or 4 in social care and working towards or having a HNC in social care or equivalent is essential.

  • A valid UK driving license is an essential requirement and access to your own vehicle with a full business insurance for car.

  • An understanding of GIRFEC and curriculum for excellence is desirable.

  • An understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Child Protection legislation.

  • Should be motivated and passionate in working with young people and to make a positive contribution to the lives.

  • Experience and understanding in dealing with challenging situations.

  • The ability to form professional and positive relationships Good physical health and high level of emotional resilience.

  • Commitment to the principle of continuing professional development and working towards achieving necessary qualifications.

  • A current PVG Registration.
