Senior Solicitor / Associate (2-6 PQE) – Litigation / Real Estate Litigation

Location: Edinburgh
Job Type: Permanent

About the Role:
Are you a skilled litigator with a passion for resolving complex real estate disputes? We are seeking a Senior Solicitor / Associate with 2-6 years PQE to join our Real Estate Litigation team in Edinburgh. Join a market-leading team that is known for handling high-profile cases, including landmark decisions in the Supreme Court and Court of Session, and work with a diverse range of clients, from institutional investors and funds to estate owners, retailers, and commercial tenants.

 

What You’ll Do:
As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Provide strategic advice and opinion work to clients in all aspects of real estate dispute resolution, ensuring a commercially focused approach.
  • Handle complex litigation cases across a range of forums, including the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, and Lands Tribunal.
  • Advocate for clients in court while exploring alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods like arbitration, mediation, and negotiation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to the growth of our practice through effective business development.
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced team members, sharing your expertise.
  • Stay updated on legal developments in the real estate sector, ensuring you provide the most current and effective advice.

  • Has experience in real estate litigation, with a strong understanding of court and tribunal procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, and can present clear, concise advice tailored to client needs.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage a demanding caseload, often dealing with tight deadlines.
  • Possesses a self-starter mentality, with a proactive approach to business development and networking.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment while also taking personal responsibility for managing their workload.
  • Shows a commitment to continuous learning, keeping legal knowledge up-to-date.
