Full Job Description

Nightline is an award winning confidential telephone and online listening and information service run by trained students for the students of Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde Universities. Publicity officers are the heart of our public presence and promotion of Nightline. They plan events, attend events such as Freshers, and work to ensure Nightline is known throughout the 3 universities we cover. We have a publicity officer for each University to help cover as much as we can. For this, you will work with Strathclyde to promote Nightline through various methods.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are a 2024/2025 student

  • Are creative and has lots of fresh ideas for events and promotional material

  • Can attend a bi-weekly meetings

  • Are passionate about mental health


  • Please note that due to our service being run by anonymous volunteers, we need public faces to attend and put on such events. This means you will not be a listening volunteer in this role., You will work with volunteers to promote a service that helps others, making a meaningful impact on the student community. You will learn skills in marketing, and event planning and coordination, learning how to promote our service; all skills which are transferable for future roles., Looking after students' mental health is more important than ever. In this role you will raise awareness of the award-winning telephone and listening service that we offer to students, ensuring that students know that their thoughts and concerns can be heard by someone, at any time of the night., You will work together with Nightline's External Director, as well as 2 other publicity officers, to plan events and raise awareness of our Nightline. This means that the workload is shared between everyone.
