Inveralmond Early Years Centre is seeking to appoint a nurturing and motivated pupil support worker. We are a 50-week setting providing a mixture of AM, PM, and full-day places. The successful candidate will have a positive approach to working with children by providing general support in relation to the child’s individual care, health and well-being, and safety; to ensure a secure and safe learning environment.

The candidate should be solution-focused with an understanding of supporting children within an educational setting and how to foster positive relationships. As a member of the nursery team, you will work to support the provision of a high-quality learning environment for all children promoting challenge, curiosity, and creativity. The candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be required to work effectively as part of our ELC team to support the children's learning.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. 

SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.
