Eden Scott is delighted to be retained by Amici to recruit an experienced QA Software Engineer due to business growth and the development of a new modern platform.
You will be part of the team that is responsible for ensuring our software meets its required functional and non-functional requirements, utilising a mix of automated testing and manual testing.

About the Role
As Amici continue to grow, we're seeking a talented QA Engineer to be part of the team that is responsible for ensuring our software meets its required functional and non-functional requirements, utilising a mix of automated testing and manual testing. Ideally, we’re looking for a hands-on QA Engineer who loves to automate test activities so they can be re-run, re-used and built on top of to build robust products that can be relied on in the most demanding environments.
This is a permanent and full-time role. This role is Hybrid, working 1 day a week in our Glasgow office (Tuesday) and 4 days a week from home (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). For the first few weeks of employment, we may require more time in the office for onboarding and training.
What will you be doing?
- Tests software releases during the Application Development Process
- Participates in 3 Amigos, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings as per the Application Development Process
- Reviews requirements and specifications to provide meaningful feedback on functional and non-function aspects of testing as part of the Three Amigos meetings
- Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases within Jira and Zephyr Squad
- Executes manual test scripts, or hybrid partially automated test scripts
- Monitors and updates bug reports as needed including bug report closure
- Designs, develops and executes automation scripts using Microsoft Playwright and custom automation scripts
- Configures test environments as needed to complete assigned testing
- Creation and management of test data for both manual and automated scenarios
- Assists in review of test processes as they are developed
What are we looking for?
- Strong, proven experience working in a consultative manner with internal and external stakeholders
- Some experience writing Test Automation scripts against a web based application (e.g. Playwright, Selenium Web Driver, etc), including handling the challenges associated with online applications
- Demonstrable problem solving skills in a time-critical, technology led environment
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to analyse a problem and complete detailed reports
- Able to methodically reproduce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and be able to reproduce and communicate these steps
- Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products
- Able to adapt to the changing needs of a project and to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and the defect reporting process
