Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Improvement Advisor at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

NHS Ayrshire and Arrans Clinical and Care Governance Unit are seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated individual with experience of implementing clinical governance principles and quality improvement. The post holder will deliver a range of support focused on the design, development and implementation of assurance processes within the organisation. This includes co-ordinating and supporting internal/external inspections; delivery of a robust process to provide oversight of clinical guidelines, policies and procedures including the support to implement of the Right Decision Service and contribute to the delivery of the NHSAA Quality Strategy.

As a member of the Clinical and Care Governance Unit, this role offers a unique opportunity for the post holder to play a key role in the delivery and further development of governance arrangements within NHS Ayrshire and Arran that underpin the delivery of safe, person centred care.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Educated to degree level with post graduate study to masters level or equivalent experience, with expert level improvement qualification such as IHI Development Programme, Improvement Advisor, Scottish Improvement Leader Qualification, Lean Green belt or above, QiiPs 1st for Leaders

In depth knowledge and demonstrable evidence of using improvement methodologies to drive sustainable change and improvement

Good working knowledge of national standards and guidelines

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced.  Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer.  If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff)  until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
