Full Job Description

To work as an integral member for the Quality team from a quality management perspective. Support the delivery of relevant elements of the governance and / or assurance needs of the business in order to improve business performance, in coordination with other members of the quality team as required. This role will require travel across sites in Scotland and will be based in our Glasgow office on a hybrid working pattern with 2-3 days per week in the office / onsite. About the role (External) Here are some of the duties your role will include : -

  • Support the implementation of the Scotland Railway and Assurance Framework, its adherence through active engagement and provide feedback to continually improve it.
  • Plan, Design, Conduct and Report on audits in accordance with the regional audit plan providing assurance that the strategic objectives of the business are being met.
  • Support additional assurance activities to improve the assurance outputs within the region.
  • Build and maintain relationships with auditees and senior leaders, influencing decision making relating to the effective delivery of audits and the changes required to close findings of that result.
  • Provide advice to enable the approval of contractor Quality Plans.
  • Review and evaluate quality performance data to assess the performance of the assigned assurance processes.
  • Assist in the delivery of functional governance and reporting pack briefings are carried out in accordance with procedures and standards.
  • Support production of specific reviews / lessons learned and reports from emerging data, audits and investigations findings drawing out meaningful conclusions.
  • Support the timely conclusion and reporting of audit actions and as needed, determine the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
  • Conduct and Manage the outputs from the audits in accordance with the relevant requirements.

    Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute, Certified IRCA Auditor or relevant professional body recognition
  • Good knowledge of Quality management tools and techniques.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Desirable
  • Good knowledge of GRIP
  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain management.
  • An appreciation of the structure of the railway industry and its basic operations.
