Quantity Surveyor

Conrad Consulting is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join a residential developer on permanent basis. Our client has a number of developments across Scotland, and it is expected that the QS will have 2/3 sites to look after simultaneously.

Being an integral part of the commercial team and reporting into the Commercial Manager our client is looking for a candidate who has demonstrable experience in a similar role ideally within residential house building (however all sectors will be considered) and who can comfortably work on their own initiative and collaborate well with the wider commercial and operational teams.

Day to Day

• Prepare forecasts of cost and value of all trades
• Report on savings and excesses against budget costs
• Effective management of supply chain and sub-contractor costs
• Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly reports
• Allocating upcoming work to contractors whilst improving existing relationships
• Identify, control and report on project costs
• Ability to prepare reports and collate information

About You:

• Minimum 2 years Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry
• Multi trade experience
• Ability to use initiative and resolve problems
• Effective time management capabilities
• Excellent organisational skills
