Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Glasgow
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a dynamic global engineering firm at the forefront of water sector projects, is expanding their commercial team in Scotland and is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them in Glasgow. A background in the water industry is advantageous!

Role Overview:

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in the commercial aspect of projects. From tender to final account, you'll work closely with our commercial team, providing crucial support to operational teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from tender through to final account stage.
  • Produce accurate project cost forecasts.
  • Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Ensure smooth daily commercial operations on projects.
  • Efficiently handle procurement management.
  • Interpret and evaluate expenditure reports with precision.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor documentation as required.
  • Assess compensation events and issue early warning notices when necessary.
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams and stakeholders.
  • Effectively engage with internal and external decision-makers.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume project environments.
  • Previous involvement in the water sector, especially on MEICA projects, is preferred.
  • Strong capabilities in commercial management and subcontractor procurement.
  • Proactive approach to managing risk and seizing opportunities.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for handling large datasets.
  • Ideally, prior experience in water projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
