Full Job Description

We have a great opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client, a Civil Engineering and Groundwork sub-contractor based in Ayrshire.


The business offers a range of services to the construction sector including private and social housing, healthcare buildings, schools, and industrial and commercial developments.


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to the company’s various projects, with a focus on minimising the costs, enhancing margins and value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality. 


Reporting into the commercial director, you will assist the commercial team with a range of tasks on multiple projects, including:


  • Cost reporting & budget control.
  • Monitoring costs & value. 
  • Attending site meetings.
  • Site Measures 
  • Preparing, submitting, and agreeing a budget and to monitoring actual performance against the agreed budget.
  • Support the Contracts Managers in respect of project and commercial deliverables.
  • Production of monthly cost and value forecasts.

 

The successful candidate will possess:


  • Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Demonstrable experience within the construction environment.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of both pre-contract and post-contract work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable in a client facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of materials procurement processes.
  • IT proficient with Microsoft Packages, including Microsoft Excel.
