These explain the job role and the type of person we're looking for., The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment. job purpose/about the role To provide full professional Quantity Surveying services and advice to elected Members, other Council officers, external consultants and external customers. The service is provided in order to implement the decision of the elected members of Aberdeen City Council through effective service delivery and implementation of quality measures within a Best Value framework. To support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the supervision and provision of advice and guidance to the team.The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

  • Degree or equivalent in appropriate technical discipline.
  • Full membership of the RICS

    Ability to deputise for the Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Working within a multi professional design team environment.
  • Monitoring budgets and undertaking cost forecasts
  • Managing projects and programmes effectively on time and on budget
  • Contractor management
  • Consultant management
  • Using oral and written methods effectively for the communication of information to
  • professionals, elected members and the public
