Full Job Description

The RADAR Controls Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams. What you'll do

  • Responsible for contributing to projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle e.g. Requirements Specification, UAT Testing and Sign Off, Rollout and Post Production Checkouts
  • Requirements Specification: Understand, create, and enhance global Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Feed Specification Documents and tailor to meet the needs of the enhancement.
  • Assist in the liaison between Technology and Business Stakeholders.
  • Extract and analyze large datasets from relational databases (tables, datatypes, joins) in order to fulfill stakeholders requirements.
  • UAT Testing: Create and execute UAT test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met / create test scripts including specific test cases and expected results
  • UAT Sign off: Assist with users to obtain sign off during the UAT phase
  • Rollout and Post Production Checkouts: Act as point of contact for Technology partners and contribute to project rollout and post production checkouts to ensure successful project closure
  • Develop SME level knowledge of ALPS reporting and workflow platforms to share knowledge, provide training, and assist to end users.
  • Understanding and utilize standard processes, design and testing tools throughout project development life cycle.

    Experience as a Business analyst or in Investment Banking Operations or IT. Experience in operational risk and control is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work together with regional and global stakeholders to execute on program deliverables and share status updates.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets and/or Operations/Trade life-cycle is a plus
  • Comfortable analyzing data from numerous disparate source systems and large datasets.
  • Ability to facilitate calls internally and with mid-level stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Adapt to tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes.
  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of small-to-medium projects tasks and change initiatives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including use of Logical, Data and Text functions in order to manipulate and analyze large datasets. Effective use of Word and PowerPoint to create outstanding documentation.
  • Basic working knowledge of data warehouse and experience of MicroStrategy is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of JIRA is desirable. QlikView and/or Tableau - knowledge advantageous
  • Experience writing SQL queries a plus.
