Full Job Description

Biffa Waste Services are currently looking for a Van Driver for our exciting reactive waste collection service across an expanding customer base. Because the service is reactive in nature with the emphasis on providing excellent and memorable customer service, you will need to be flexible across week days with some weekend working to ensure we can meet all customer requirements efficiently.   • Collection of boilers, radiators, pipework and other bagged waste from household gardens or inside (eg, flats) when Centrica engineer has left site. Note, all items are left loose and require manual handling into rear of vehicle
  • Occasional collection of asbestos materials, completion of necessary documents, safe carriage and disposal in accordance with waste regulations
  • Occasional collection of bagged hazardous waste items (eg, empty containers), completion of necessary documents, safe carriage and disposal in accordance with waste regulations
  • Manage segregation of wastes in rear of vehicle for ease of removal at disposal site and to secure hazardous materials
  • ·The role covers a wide geographic area, and drivers are sometimes required to provide cover in neighbouring areas, therefore a lot of driving is involve.

    The successful candidate will have -
  • Qualifications - Valid driving licence. Excellent customer service skills with a passion for giving all customers a positive and memorable experience. Flexibility to work any day of the week and the occasional weekend. Conscientious and thorough in all day to day tasks while remaining professional and upbeat. Ability to work independently while remaining part of an overall, larger team.
