Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and approachable Receptionist / Admin Assistant to primarily manage the main reception at Barnsley Sixth Form College. Our college takes pride in our commitment to providing students with an excellent learning experience, starting with a warm welcome from our fantastic staff as soon as they enter the building. This maternity cover position will be the welcoming face of our vibrant Sixth Form college. You will greet staff, students, and visitors, acting as the first point of contact for all who arrive. A positive attitude and a warm smile are essential for success in this role. Your responsibilities will include answering phone calls, directing inquiries to key staff members, and managing various administrative tasks typical of an educational environment, such as laminating, report writing, and diary prioritisation.,

  • Oversee day-to-day management of the reception area.
  • Answer telephone calls and route them appropriately.
  • Dealing with student inquiries and provide assistance where needed.
  • Welcome and sign in visitors to the college.
  • Liaising with curriculum staff and managers to carry out administrative tasks in order to support learning and classroom based activities
  • This Receptionist/Admin Assistant position is perfect for someone who thrives in a front-facing role and can engage articulately with a diverse range of individuals.

    We seek an individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills who can act as a positive role model within our college community. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a solid level of IT knowledge, preferably with experience in a similar role. If you possess outstanding communication skills and can prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines, this role may be perfect for you. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
